Our building in Khartoum has three apartments. The only other occupant I've met in the past three days is Cooper, a very personable Rhodesian Ridgeback owned by our downstairs neighbor. Cooper came over for a few hours yesterday and we snapped a few photos on our rooftop.

Our building in Khartoum has three apartments. The only other occupant I've met in the past three days is Cooper, a very personable Rhodesian Ridgeback owned by our downstairs neighbor. Cooper came over for a few hours yesterday and we snapped a few photos on our rooftop.
The Wild East
Khartoum has a "wild west" look to it: wide streets, unfinished buildings and lots of brown dust. I'm told that feel extends to how business is conducted.
We'll see: I've just now got my feet on the ground. Now then, where are my cowboy boots?
